About VIMA
VIMA is the first international contemporary art fair in Cyprus. Each May, around 30 galleries from Cyprus, the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond come together in Limassol.
VIMA (Βήμα) means "step" in Greek, but also "podium" or "platform". Neither entirely in the East nor geographically in the West, Cyprus occupies a unique position, and VIMA seeks to make it a meeting point between the island's art scene and the wider region.
The format
Gallery presentations sit alongside a Curatorial Project, led each year by a guest curator, and Public, Parallel and VIP Programmes across Limassol, Nicosia and beyond. In 2027, the Curatorial Project is led by María Inés Rodríguez.
The venue
VIMA takes place at The Warehouse by IT Quarter, a former industrial building overlooking the Mediterranean. Built shortly after 1947, it was part of the SODAP winery, one of the oldest in Cyprus.
